The Site

The site is located immediately to the east of Chelford Train Station and north of Chelford Village Hall, bordered by agricultural fields to the north, Knutsford Road (A537) to the south, and the railway line to the west. Its strategic location naturally extends the village, bringing together the ‘old’ heart of Chelford and ‘new’ Chelford. The site benefits from excellent connectivity to local amenities, transport links, and employment opportunities, making Chelford East a logical and sustainable place for new homes.

The site has excellent transport connectivity, with Chelford Railway Station situated within a two-minute walk of the site providing frequent connections to Crewe, Manchester, Macclesfield and Manchester Airport. The A537 to the southern boundary of the site provides easy access to the strategic road network.

A Natural And Logical Extension To Chelford

All councils in England are expected to allocate land to deliver enough homes to meet the needs of residents, and safeguard land for future development.

The Chelford East site is designated as safeguarded land for future development in the Cheshire East Development Plan, adopted in 2022.

As the Council is unable to demonstrate a sufficient supply of housing to meet the borough’s needs, we are bringing forward our proposals which will deliver the award-winning, beautiful new homes we are known for, while helping to address the need for additional homes in the area.
